Come and sing The Messiah

Sir Eugene Goossens’ version for full symphony orchestra

Experience Handel’s Messiah as you’ve never sung it before!

Crosby Symphony Orchestra and St Faith’s Crosby Music will will present Sir Eugene Goossens’ monumental orchestration of The Messiah, memorably recorded by Sir Thomas Beecham, as a 'come and sing' event. We believe this may be the first performance in the UK since the 1959 recording. Singers from all over the country are welcome to join us to find out what it’s like to perform the Messiah with a symphony orchestra including four horns, three trombones, tuba, piccolo, contrabassoon, harp, triangle, cymbals, and bass drum.

The vocal parts are the same as in standard editions.

The day will start with a rehearsal at 2.30 pm and finish with a performance at 6.30pm.

We would love to see as many singers singers as possible for this amazing event

St. Faith’s Church is in Crosby, L22 4QQ, just north of Liverpool city centre.

The event is free, to take part or just come and listen to the performance.

If you're coming to listen you can make the experience extra-special by purchasing a VIP ticket which includes a welcome drink; softer, more comfortable seating; seats in the front 2 rows of the audience; and a drink in the interval.

Free and VIP tickets are available on line from Eventbrite.
